Are you a student who will be participating in FIPCC this year?

Welcome to 1Health! As a student enrolled in the Foundations of Interprofessional Communication and Collaboration (FIPCC) course, you are embarking on an exciting journey in interprofessional collaboration. This orientation to interprofessional communication and collaboration is critical introduction to your role as a collaboration-ready health professional.

In the FIPCC course, you will be introduced to the concepts of team work and communication to support how you and your colleagues work together to care for patients/clients through collaborative approaches. FIPCC is a hybrid course that includes both online modules and small group meetings.  Each of the FIPCC small groups includes an interprofessional combination of 30-35 students and 1-2 facilitators. The FIPCC groups meet five times in person during fall semester 2018, in addition to completing an online module (six total sessions). During the face-to-face meetings, students break apart into smaller discussion groups and participate in a variety of learning activities and exercises that help to demonstrate the importance of effective communication and collaboration in the health care environment.
